The Paladins of Podcast (a brief history)
Hello, we are the Paladins of Podcast,
Rob De Ville and Mike “TaylorLyfe” Taylor might seem like seasoned veterans of the podcasting world, but their journey together started in a rather unconventional way. The two met in a Facebook group for tabletop roleplaying games, where Mike invited Rob to join a creative collective known as the Dungeon Scribe Society. Rob, looking to immerse himself deeper into the TTRPG community, jumped at the opportunity.
At the time, Rob’s podcast, SideQuests!, was facing an uncertain future after a former co-host had stepped away, putting the show on an indefinite hiatus. But surrounded by fresh ideas and creators eager to make their mark, Rob decided to take a gamble. He threw out a lifeline to see if anyone would help resurrect the show, and Mike, despite never having podcasted before, answered the call with a casual “why not?”
The result? SideQuests! entered its fourth season with a fresh dynamic and a renewed sense of energy. Rob brings his deep experience in TTRPGs, world-building, and game design, while Mike balances it out with his unique perspective as a fresh voice in the industry. Together, they explore the creative process, dissect rules, and—most importantly—bring their love of gaming to the forefront in every episode.
